GOING UP THE WALLS

It sometimes seems that our wood appears on walls and ceilings as frequently as it does on the floor. It often gets used to clad pillars (making an attractive feature out of an engineering necessity), counters, display units and bars, and to create tables, doors and planters.

Here, we show how to clad a wall and dress it with what looks like a solid floating shelf – perfect for residential or retail applications.

This series of photographs shows how to clad a wall and shelf with battens and a secret fixing system. The edges of the shelf have been mitred to keep them neat and hide the birch ply backing. Attractive, effective and unique – After all we have a huge range of planks to choose from.
