Wood flooring was a key part of the design right from the start, can you tell us more why that was and how it ties into the overall design philosophy of the project?
Our interior design for this project was to use materials and colours that tied in with the native bush that can be seen from all areas of the house, as well as being highly functional and durable. We believe that hardwood flooring creates a clear and uncluttered look, especially in large open spaces like this and not to mention that the colouring perfectly accompanies the outlook.
It was also really important that the flooring suited our way of living, and since we are a family with two small children, having wood flooring makes clean up easy at the end of the day.
There is a plethora of options in engineered wood flooring in the market, what were the deciding factors on why you chose VidaSpace?
We were drawn to using VidaSpace for the large variety of colours and looks with engineered timber flooring. It was a priority for us that the flooring we used was the exact look we wanted, and that it also would provide easy installation and durability with use. Basically VidaSpace offered the trifecta of all requirements for flooring.
Corban also included our Accessory range of glues, underlays, and vapour barrier membrane. With these and the timber, how did the installation of the product go?
The accessories that we used made for a stress-free and fast installation for our builders, one builder completed the full installation in one week. The manufacturing tolerances were amazing which indicates an incredibly high-quality product.
You have a busy family life; since installation how has the floor been to live on and maintain?
The flooring has delivered exactly what we needed for our every day living. Whether it is around the kitchen and dining, or lounge and play areas, the floor is definitely being put to the test. We have found that it is easy to clean, and any surface scuffs or marks will buff right out. We are under no impression that won’t have preset the odd dent or scratch when not careful, but that is the nature of wooden flooring.
We are eight months in, with 2 young kids and it looks brand new still!
Would you recommend VidaSpace to others who are looking to build and renovate their homes?
We highly recommend VidaSpace for new builds and renovations, for a number of reasons. Great variety of products, the offer of accessories that assist installation, easy installation, and of course fabulous customer service.
