Before founding VidaSpace in 2015, Jimmy worked in his family sawmilling business in marketing and sales roles. Growing up, Jimmy has always been interested in architecture, learning from his grandfather – a Wellington-based architect. Jimmy is highly driven by working with designers and delivering solutions to their most challenging briefs and concepts, as well as constantly developing and curating new innovative products that the New Zealand market hasn’t seen before.
Our Director Paul owned a Levin-based timber business for 25 years before selling it and joining the VidaSpace journey. Previously a builder, Paul brings a wealth of timber expertise to the team, and he loves travelling around the country visiting our trade clients. When he is not at VidaSpace head office or on the road, Paul is actively involved in charity work.
Joe brings with him to VidaSpace many years of leadership experience across a wide range of roles within the FMCG industry. Joe’s passion for contributing to the growth and development of a company and its people made him the perfect fit for our Operations Manager role. A real outdoorsman, away from work you can find Joe walking his dogs, riding motorcycles, diving for kai moana, or working around his lifestyle block in Levin.
Our Design + Marketing Manager Ahlia has a strong background in marketing, graphic design, digital media, and photography. After joining VidaSpace in 2017, Ahlia obtained a Diploma of Interior Design to bring more skills to her role working with interior designers and architects. Aside from her deep passion for interior design, sustainability, and the VidaSpace brand, Ahlia lives for her three cats and travelling the world with her husband.
Aaron, our Commercial Manager, was VidaSpace’s very first employee. Based in Wellington, his role entails looking after large commercial accounts and projects nationwide. Aaron is passionate about bringing more natural wood into spaces in New Zealand. When he is not at work, you can find Aaron biking the Wellington Hills, exploring places you can’t reach on foot.
Jon and his family made the big move from London to NZ and in 2023 he joined VidaSpace as our Finance Manager. Not only is he a numbers man with sharp attention to detail, Jon is also a part-time boxing coach in his spare time – talk about an all-rounder.
Before joining VidaSpace in 2020, Fran studied Spatial Design and worked in the commercial furniture industry. Now our Auckland-based Specification Consultant, Fran works on a multitude of projects with clients in the Auckland and Bay of Plenty regions. What Fran loves most about working at VidaSpace is that no two days are the same. When she is not working, you can find Fran doing pilates, visiting Papamoa with her family, and dreaming of a lifestyle block with plenty of pets.
From visiting forestry blocks on sourcing trips as a small boy, to making all manner of toys out of scraps of wood in the garage, it’s safe to say Brad is passionate about timber. Brad’s favourite part of the role is working with our wonderful team; “There is amazing value and talent in the team we have, and this is evident in the results we have achieved together.”
Our Auckland-based Specification Consultant Emily has a long-standing track record in the interiors industry, with experience in textiles, lighting, and of course interior timber finishes. Emily’s favourite part of her work is the people she gets to meet and work with – witnessing their creative process and seeing the finishes come together from concept through to completion. Emily’s staffy Kemba is the apple of her eye so she welcomes any and all dog chat.
Merenia is our Wellington-based Design Consultant, and before joining the team she operated her own colour consulting business and has extensive experience in the paint industry. Passionate about being Māori, the design world, helping others, and self-growth, Mere says that her favourite part of the job is “being part of a small premium team that has ambition and innovation for timber solutions.”
Before joining VidaSpace, Gavin worked in the furniture design and interiors industries, making his transition into our South Island Specification Consultant role seamless. Gavin’s favourite part of his job is being part of the creative process that facilitates outstanding design, and he brings with him great passion and an infectious personality.
Matt used to be one of our best flooring installers in Auckland before deciding to get off the tools for good and join VidaSpace as our Technical Consultant. With technical expertise and passion to match, the wealth of knowledge he brings to the team is invaluable. Matt is a massive foodie and lover of craft beer, he even used to run his own sandwich shop.
Madi has a flair for fashion and design, and before joining VidaSpace she worked in the kitchen design industry. Now with a Diploma of Interior Design under her belt, Madi is our Interior Design Consultant and specialises in looking after our interior & kitchen design clients, as well as joiners. Madi’s favourite part of her job is “the people and the team culture. Good vibes!”
Candayce joins the VidaSpace team as our Project Sales Support, her core focus is offering 6-star customer service to our wonderful clients and supporting the internal project sales team. An adrenaline-seeker at heart, when she isn’t at work you can usually find Candayce in the ocean, wakeboarding, or sunbathing at the beach.
Liana is our clever in-house Marketing Coordinator. Passionate about photography, cooking, and DIY projects, Liana brings her talent and creativity to her role at VidaSpace. Liana’s favourite part about her work is seeing the photography of all the amazing projects we have worked on. When she’s not at work, you can find Liana spending time with her family, and in the kitchen experimenting with her own recipes.
Tequila joined the team in 2024 and is passionate about big cities, architecture, and reading. Prior to VidaSpace, Tequila worked in the business advisory industry and brings her organisational skills, book smarts, and professionalism to her position as Executive Assistant. Tequila’s favourite part of her job is the variety the role brings and working in a tight-knit team.
Dennis is our Warehouse Operative, constantly working on his feet to ensure that our clients’ orders get out seamlessly, whilst keeping the warehouse team entertained. Dennis hails from the Kapiti Coast, his iwi is Ngāti Tūwharetoa, and when he’s not at work you can find him at the pub giving life lessons around the pool table.
Ivan is our Samples & Dispatch Coordinator and is responsible for all showroom and client samples and display panels. Ivan is exceptionally hands on and takes immense pride in our world class sample service. Away from work, Ivan is passionate about cars and spends his time building hot rods in his garage, when he doesn’t have his hands full with his 10 children and grandchildren.
Paul’s work experience includes everything from dairy farming to truck driving, but it is his 30+ years in the warehouse industry that has landed him at VidaSpace as our Warehouse Operative. Paul brings a consistently positive, can-do attitude to his role, and when he’s not working you can find him out fishing or competing against mates playing darts and pool.
