Read MoreWood flooring was a key part of the design right from the start, can you tell us more why that was and how it ties into the overall design philosophy of the project? Our interior design for this project was to use materials and colours that tied in with the native bush that can be seen from all areas of the house, as well as being highly functional and durable. We believe that hardwood flooring creates a clear and uncluttered look, especially in large open spaces like this and not to mention that the colouring perfectly accompanies the outlook.

Dorian Minty is an Associate at Studio Pacific and heads up their interiors team and been there since 2002 after studying fine arts and industrial design and completing design work on ‘The Lord of the Rings’. Penny Angell, another well-known designer in Wellington, was with Studio Pacific for 3 years, working in their interiors team was heavily involved with the project along with her colleague Jason Kowalak who was unable to join us for the interview.
